URS – the Global Assurance Group Marks Another Move Into the Australian Certification Market
URS Group, a large UK based testing inspection and certification company, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Australian based ISO Certification Body, MSC Global. MSC Global was founded over a decade ago by Mr Graham McConnell who will step down as Founder and Chairman. Mr Ross Wraight, the CEO of URS Australia and former founding CEO of SAI Global, has been appointed Chief Executive and Managing Director of MSC Global.
Mr David Riggs (URS Group MD, UK) stated, “The URS Group’s board is delighted to announce this acquisition, which will add an important platform for URS Group in Australia and the pacific region”. David welcomed all the MSC Global team into the URS Group and thanked Mr McConnell for his outstanding services to MSC Global.
MSC Global assists its clients to improve quality, environmental, safety, food, and information security performance through verification of the application of international Standards across all industry sectors. Ross added that he is looking forward to MSC Global bringing to the group, an important and additional accredited certification capability through JASANZ. Ross commented that “the URS Group over 28 years and with 55,000 contracts worldwide has added significant value to its clients and this is now available in Australia and New Zealand”. Ross also said he is looking forward to supporting the growth and development of the URS Group more generally, and is excited about working with the MSC Global team.
MSC Global clients can look forward to a continuation of the excellent service, and effective and efficient auditor and administration teams, now backed with the global expertise of URS Group.
Ross was also pleased to announce that Mr Ranjit Singh has been appointed Chief Operating Officer / Certification Manager of MSC Global, and Ms Sharon Pert will continue as Administration Manager. Both are well known to MSC Global clients, its stakeholders and team members.
URS Group is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, UKAS, and its portfolio companies offer other accredited services, such as NABCB, SAC, Dakks and now, JASANZ.
